Freight and Shipping – Austin Convention Center Notice

It has always been the policy of the building not to accept packages on behalf of exhibitors and/or clients for liability reasons. The purpose of this email is to inform you that this Austin Convention Center policy will now be strictly enforced.

All packages intended for on-site use will need to be sent to your General Services Contractors (GSC) and brought to the building via their freight services; or signed for by your GSC while they are on-site. If you are sending anything to the building directly please be sure that it is scheduled to arrive during contracted event dates. Please note that your GSC will need to be on-site to sign for these packages during contracted dates.

Should anything arrive outside of the contracted dates or should the GSC not be on-site, the building will refuse service. What happens to the package after that is up to the policies of the individual carriers.

This policy is currently stated under “Freight and Shipping” tabs within both the planners and exhibitors sections on our website, and the verbiage will go out with all exhibitor packets. We ask that you do anything possible to try and reiterate this policy enforcement to all staff, contractors and exhibitors.

Thanks in advance and below is a copy of the policy for your review. As always please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
