DOCUMENTATION TRAINING: ($220 Additional fee for this training, includes Sunday lunch) With Jennifer Barton, TASB. This session is designed to train administrators on the legal framework within which documentation of all Texas public school employees takes place and to focus on specific steps required to document an employee’s performance effectively. Registration for this session includes lunch and a copy of the latest edition of the Texas Documentation Handbook from ED311.

LEGAL ISSUES FOR THE A.P. 2026: With Jim Walsh, of Walsh Gallegos Kyle Robinson & De Los Santos, P.C. This session will cover student discipline, special education, 504, liability and other concerns that are practical and relevant to AP’s. This session will emphasize the practical and leave plenty of time for Q and A.

If it’s not written down, it didn’t happen. An effective documentation process is crucial for improving employee performance and making informed personnel decisions. This interactive presentation will guide participants through the ED311 Documentation Handbook: Appraisal, Nonrenewal, Termination. Focus will be on developing documentation to support appraisal, nonrenewal, and termination decisions.

The Three Fallacies of School Leadership. Expectations for school leaders are high. There are so many things you are expected to be good at. Some of these expectations are unrealistic and others actually set us up for failure instead of success! In this keynote, we’ll uncover the three fallacies of school leadership that can undermine our ability to have the impact we aspire to. The three fallacies are:

1. Speaking is more important than listening (it isn’t)
2. If you are just efficient enough, you can get everything done (you can’t)
3. You are the instructional leader (probably not)
We’ll uncover the truth behind each fallacy and examine tools and techniques to meet the expectations of the job.
